Well, I tried.

Well, I tried. It was an interesting experiment. I don't view it as a fail. I got to try new things. I think that I'll try again but this time I should aim for one new thing every week? I was never realistically going to manage 1 new thing every day. However, the problem with one new thing every week is that it lacks time pressure. It needs planning. Lack of pressure and need of planning means I probably won't do it. Hmmm. I need to give this some thinking. Still, it wasn't so bad. I tried.

Day 18

A game of fibbage with my bun bun.

Day 17 - retro

Tried to play a retro game console. I fiddled about foe ages before I realised something profound: it's shit. It doesn't work. Spent quite some time trying. So at least that's something different, right!?

Day 16 - Played a silly game

Instead of watching TV during and after dinner I played a silly game. I am a silly man. I played a silly game but didn't win any silly prizes which is just silly. Innit.

Day 15 - Meditated for the first time morning/evening

Today I started ( finally ) on the 8 week course of meditation. I am sure it will take me longer than 8 weeks but this is just me. This is my MO. I meditated for 8 minuets with my eyes closed. Grounding myself. Letting my thoughts come and go. Paying attention to the breath. I am proud of me. Go me I meditated first thing in the morning before coffee. This is incredible. Now I have to keep this up for 6 more days.

Day 14 - Time Traveled

Tonight watched TV old skool style with Tubi. It's a free TV streaming service that essentially acts like old cable. You flick through the channels that are playing "live" and according to a set day/time. I tuned into a movie called Legendary: Tome of the Dragon.  This is how TV used to be. Tune into something half way through with no idea of what is going on. It was sort of relaxing in a way. No pressure to pick. No expectations of time well spent. Just something silly to watch. I sort of liked the experience. I suddenly missed something that I didn't know I was or could be missing. I yearned for a simpler time. TV used to be relaxing. We didn't expect it to be the next big binging thing. We didn't have to spend half as long choosing the movie or TV show. There was no demands from either side of the screen. I even found the ADs charming. The whole thing was charming.  This is the kind of thing this 365 day experiment is all about. I might even time travel aga...

Day 13 - A geocaching adventure

Went geocaching today. Rode the bike down to the river and cached there. Unfortunately the path was overgrown and the rocks slippery with alge from the river so I didn't want to risk it. Disappointing to not find the cache but the bike ride was nice and lovely to spend some time on an outside date with Bun.
