Day 11 - A different movie

Image
Watched a movie I wouldn't normally watch in a genre I wouldn't normally choose from. A racing movie called Rush. I was aware of it being on Netflix and aware that it was supposed to be very good but not my sort of movie, don't do sports movies in general but decided to give it a go for something different. It was good, actually. I enjoyed it. The rivalry between the two drivers and their contrasting personalities was made for a compelling watch and thr racing was exciting and well shot. In general the cinematography was pretty great. I would have liked more track action but otherwise a good movie. I don't love it - not being a sports fan. If I was into racing I would have probably enjoyed it much more but I'm glad I saw it. It will never be a fav, but it was good to... do... ( you guessed ) something different.

Missing days

I missed a day. I know I will. You know what? That's fine. I give myself permission to miss a day or two. Some days I will be blank. Some days I will be glum or aimless or easy and free. It's fine. Those days can be here. As long as I keep going with the project. I will. Let's do this! YAY! FUCK YEAAAAAAAAH. Hello, I am a ghost writer. Wooo Me: That's not what a ghost writer is, you know? Woooo? Anyway, please stop haunting my blog. Woont you? Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Really? ........ ...

Day 10 - cronut

Tried a chocolate covered cronut. It's alright. I prefer an actual doughnut or croissant.

Day 9 - Candle making

I made a candle! The kit has been sitting around awhile. It wasn't that difficult and just involved rolling together sheets of wax, around a wick, to make a candle. I cut some shapes out of the last sheet. It went surprisingly well.

Day 8 - Malaysian food

Image
Out geocaching today. A trip to Canary Wharf. No wolves and no canaries but sunshine and tall buildings. I was so hungry I got it a horse made of burgers. I didn't eat burgers or horses but ate a Malaysian curry on a banana leaf. I've eaten Malaysian food before but not this particular dish. Not THE most delicious thing I've eaten but very good. Special mention to the chillies - salty and hot.  What will I do for day 9?! It's another day off so plenty of opportunity for something, innit.

Day 7 - Matcha celebration

Image
AND ON THE 7th DAY HE MADE MATCHA LATTE and yea twas good. Wow, I made it to 7 days. It's a small milestone but one none the less. So I am celebrating. Here is to me. He's a jolly old older fella! Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah! Go me! Go me! Go me! Thinking of things is actually a lot harder than I expected. It's dawned upon me how difficult this will actually be. But this is such a life enriching experiment and experience. I'm glad I started.

Day 6 - A sunlit breakfast and remembering Woofer

Image
Today, breakfast by the door. Still foggy from sleep I let the sunshine in. Sat on the beanbag. I put Woofer's jumper on the step -- like old times. He loved the door and always rush to that step. I sat and sipped, hot coffee, and a breakfast of memories.

Day 5 - A different breakfast

Image
Today is special. Every day is special and sometimes I have to celebrate and today I did so with a croissant croque monsieur for breakfast! Ooooh la la! Fancy!   Very decadent breakfast. Plenty of cheese and bechamel. MMMMMMMMM. I wonder what I will do tomorrow?! I've realized how difficult this challenge actually is but it's so worthwhile.

Day 4 - A different lunch

Today had a different kind of lunch. I was for want of sandwich so off to Lidl in search of lunch. I got a falafel hummus wrap, Different to what I would normally go for and have. The is a voyage of discovery. The wrap was really nice although the veggies a little soggy at the bottom, Nobody wants their bottom to be soggy. I got some lentil sour cream and black pepper snacks instead of crisps. So good! Lovely crunch and the sour cream and black pepper flavour was inteses: creamy and.., well, peppery.

Day 3 - Geocaching in the hot sun

Image
Day 3, a geocaching adventure. I have done it before but not for a long time. The last time was way back in 2019 when the world had only just switched to being in colour. I always enjoyed it! Out and about exploring, going on quests, solving puzzles and finding treasure. What's not to like?! I decided on The Docklands just over the river. Why? 2 reasons why: 1) Because I like the area and it is somewhere other than Abbey Wood and 2) Because I can. So I set out on my bike on a warm day with a good breeze keeping it cool. It wouldn't stay that way and I would be in for an extra adventure.  Found the first one at a bridge overlooking London City Airport! What a great location! To jumbo jet roared over my head as I searched. Their gears down, so close, as they descended with a howl of engines. Unfortunately I didn't get a pic of that. The cache was super easy to find.  The way to the second cache had some beautiful scenery. But once I was there, unfortunately I couldn't fi...

Day 2 - Game!

Instead of watching TV I played a game after dinner. That's not really different but it was multiplayer so there's the difference. It was fun for a change and easy to do.

DAY 1 - Starting and writing a blog

DAY 1 Day 1 (June 15, 2025): Created and started this blog that I really do not have the time for and probably won't keep it going but anyway ( see last post ) here we are. I used to have a travel blog but lost it through a series of unfortunate events. I do miss blogging - writing! I picked Blogger because it takes literally minutes to start, has hardly any maintenance and is free. Hopefully I will keep it going because these posts will be short and very easy and fast to make. Feels good to be writing, creating, and starting something new. This first day was pretty easy.

Actually 366

A LITTLE DIFFERENT: Project 365 So I had this idea today of trying a new project. I'm not optimistic that I will see it through. I will probably fail but it is ok. We all fail all the time and it is ok. It's only not ok when we stop trying, right? If we stop trying new things that means we lost hope, lose faith, that things can be better.  So what is the project? For the next year ( 365 days ) and starting today I will try something new each day. It doesn't have to be grand, epic, sensational, spectacular, daring or dangerous - in fact it will never be dangerous! It could be something smol like switching tea for coffee or taking a different route when I walk somewhere. The point is that it just has to be something I wouldn't normally do. It doesn't even have to be something new, bonus points if it is though, As long as it isn't something I would normally or regularly do. If it is something I have done before it must be something I haven't done in quite a whi...
